The Lumen Dominican Centre, nestled on the Sion Hill Campus in the heart of Blackrock, Co.Dublin, is a hive of educational activity for adults of all ages. Lumen advocates for lifelong learning and human flourishing in a spirit of community, guided by the ethos of the Dominican sisters. It is committed to the dialogue between faith and culture. Classes resume next week and run during the day (Tuesday to Friday) and, from October, two evenings a week. Subjects range from ballet, sacred dance, languages, and art history to philosophy and the Bible. Lumen will also continue its choir ‘Cantus Lumen’ (Song of Light). No auditions or experience are required, and it will be an opportunity for new and returning students to enjoy the benefits and enjoyment of choral singing. Bridge
Bridge is played every Thursday morning in Foxrock Parish Centre from 10.30-12.30, recommencing on Thursday 10th September. It is run for Charity and all income, less expenses, goes to a number of charities at the end of the year. New Members would be very welcome. This Pentecost Letter puts before the Diocese a process which provides for initial reflection in parishes on their future. This process also sets out the formal steps to be taken, together with the Archbishop, when new parish structures and relationships are being considered… I ask Parish Pastoral Councils and Partnership Pastoral Councils,
through prayer, listening, discernment and decision-making, to find together a way into the future for their parishes locally.
In the Holy Spirit, we are called to let go of what was, and open ourselves to where Christ is leading us, to embrace the hope God has for us and for all creation… Now is the time, in prayer and reflection, to deepen the renewal which has been long under way among us.

JUBILEE GARDEN
We were delighted to plant 5 Oak Trees and 5 Alder trees last Sunday after 11.30 Mass. Ian our gardener planted 8 trees in the parish grounds and Fr Philip with the able assistance of a number of parishioners planted 2 in the Jubilee garden. Fr Philip then blessed the trees.
We wait to hear from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co Council as to whether we were successful in obtaining a grant from them to carry out further work and planting. We hope to receive positive news before the end of the month. We will keep you informed of developments.

Francis Jubilee Garden 2025
Hi everyone. We the members of the Parish Pastoral Council were very excited to introduce you all to our plans and fundraising initiative for our pollinator garden celebrating Pope Francis and the Jubilee Year two weeks ago. This project can only happen with your support, and we thank all those who have kindly donated through our envelope donation collection so far.
