A member of the Parish Funeral Team assists at each Requiem Mass. We form part of the procession into and out of the Church, and assist both the celebrant and the bereaved families throughout the Mass. Unless there is a visiting priest who is a family friend, we accompany the family to the graveyard or crematorium and say the Prayers of Committal. We currently have five members and would be delighted to welcome new members. Training and familiarisation will be provided. Time commitment is three/four hours on the morning of the funeral. The team cleans the church on the first day of each month after 10am mass. The church is vacuumed and the pews are polished. In addition all glass doors and the confessional are cleaned. The stewarding team came about as a result of the pandemic when it was necessary to provide the parishioners with a safe environment wherein to attend services. Now that restrictions are lifted their duties revolve around stewarding the church and car park for large funerals. They are sometimes required for First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Christmas services when the church may be at full capacity
The Lectio Divina runs every Monday, except Bank holidays, from 11am to 12 noon.
The group reflects on the Bible, reading the Gospel and Readings for the Sunday ahead. We discuss how the Word Of God applies to our lives and open our minds to what God is saying to us. We are ordinary people who want to understand, to share, to learn and to get to know God more intimately in our daily lives.
“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life,
to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.” (Act 2:42)
We are a group of parish lay volunteers who serve Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock. As Ministers of Holy Communion, we have the privilege to help the priest administer the Eucharist by distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to those who come to Holy Communion:

A Eucharistic minister must be a fully initiated member of the Church (having received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation). Training provided. We would be delighted to welcome you to the group, please contact the parish office if you would like further information.
